Detroit Tigers Beat Chicago White Sox 9-4

The Detroit Tigers defeated the Chicago White Sox 9-4 on Monday night at Guaranteed Rate Field. Spencer Torkelson hit a three-run home run in the first inning to give the Tigers an early lead. The White Sox came back to tie the game in the fourth inning on a two-run home run by Jose Abreu, but the Tigers regained the lead in the fifth inning on a two-run single by Jeimer Candelario.
The Tigers added two more runs in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly by Harold Castro and an RBI single by Willi Castro. The White Sox scored one run in the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly by AJ Pollock, but the Tigers held on to win the game.
Torkelson finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Candelario was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. White Sox starter Lucas Giolito allowed five runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings. Tigers starter Eduardo Rodriguez allowed two runs on four hits in five innings.

- The White Sox fell to 62-70 with the loss.
- The two teams will meet again on Tuesday night at Guaranteed Rate Field.
